The geographic connection
A line shows where a planet was rising, setting, at upper culmination, or at lower culmination at your birth moment. Nearby lines offer themes to reflect on.
Is astrocartography scientifically proven?
The planetary positions are calculated using astronomy. The personal meanings assigned to those positions are astrology, which is not scientifically established as a way to predict outcomes. Use this tool for education, entertainment and reflection. Do not base relocation, health, financial or relationship decisions on a map alone.
Why can my map differ from another website?
Birth time, historical time-zone rules, geocentric versus topocentric positions, refraction, and line conventions can change results. This explorer uses geocentric equatorial positions of date and geometric horizons, without atmospheric refraction or parans. Very old civil time records may be uncertain. Compare the same UTC birth moment first.
Why don’t you need my birthplace coordinates?
These worldwide angular lines depend on the exact birth instant in UTC. Your birthplace is used to choose the correct civil time zone. Birthplace coordinates would be needed for a local natal chart, which is a different calculation.
Are my birth details saved or shared?
Calculations stay in memory in this browser tab. We do not place birth details in a URL or save them in browser storage. This page has no third-party map or advertising script. Printing creates a copy under your control. Clear your details when you finish on a shared device.
What is included?
Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto; their ASC, DSC, MC and IC lines where defined; planet and angle filters; geographic distances; and comparisons for up to three places. Birth dates from 1900 onward are supported. City comparisons use all lines, independently of map filters.
